People all across the world said 'Hasta Siempre Comandante' to Fidel Castro

Fidel Castro, leader of the Cuban Revolution, legendary name of world revolutionary movement, and the symbol of the fight against fascism, imperialism, and exploitation, passed away on November 25 at the age of 90. The world said to him: ‘Hasta Siempre Comandante!’

Funeral will be on December 4th

Fidel Alejandro Castro Ruz... Shortly, Fidel Castro. The leader of the Cuban Revolution passed away on the night of November 25th at 22:29 local time. The news was reported at Cuban State Television by Fidel’s brother and Head of State Raul Castro.
In his message, Raul Castro said: “Today, on 25 November, at 22:29, the Commander in Chief of the Cuban Revolution lost his life. Comrade Fidel will be cremated according to his own will. In early hours of Saturday, November 26, our funeral organization committee will inform our public about the details. Until victory, always!”
AFP reported the funeral will be held on December 4th.

The encounter that changed the course of history

Fidel had come to Mexico after being released from Cuban prisons. On 8 July 1955, the course of history were to change as a result of an encounter of two people. Raul, the brother of Fidel, introduced Fidel with the Argentinian revolutionary Che Guevara. Following an eager dialogue that lasted for the whole night, Ernesto decided Fidel was the inspirational revolutionary leader that he was looking for and joined the ‘July 26 Movement’, which was formed to overthrow dictator Batista. Although it was decided for Ernesto to be the doctor of the group, he nevertheless attended the military trainings of the members, too. At the end of the training, their trainer Alberto Bayo praised Che as the most eye-catching student.

Fidel Castro was arrested after the Attack on Moncada Barracks and brought before the court on 21 September 1953. As a lawyer, he also took on the responsibility to defend his friends who were arrested along with himself. Basing his defense on the unlawfulness of the Batista government, Fidel emphasized strongly that it was the responsibility of each citizen to rise up against an unlawful government. Fidel’s hearing, where his defense lasted for four hours, was held on 16 October 1953. This was the day when he said, at the end of his testimony, “History will absolve me.”

Last message of Fidel: ‘Continue fighting for your ideals’

Fidel Castro gave a speech for the first time after years in April this year. During this speech at the congress of the Communist Party of Cuba, Castro mentioned he was going to pass away soon and asked the members of the party to protect their ideals. He said: “I will be 90, soon. Soon, I will also leave off like the other leaders. Of course, the time will come for each of us. However, the ideals and beliefs of the Cuban communists will continue contributing to this world and the humanity. We must continue fighting for our ideals!”
