Reports signal a new wave of dismissals of 40,000 state employees alleged to have ties with PKK

Pro-AKP newspaper Sabah has recently published reports signaling another wave of dismissals to take place at public institutions.

According to the news piece of Sabah, which was published yesterday (September 26) with the title of ‘FETÖ is done, now PKK is next’, 40,000 civil servants are currently being monitored and their activities in the past are being investigated and examined based on allegations about their ties to PKK.

While these state employees’ posts on social media are also taken into consideration in scope of the current examinations, their participation in activities of municipalities that have been labeled as giving support to PKK is rendered as a reason for accusation, as well.

The related part of the report said: ‘Among the names that are being examined are those who have already been monitored; participated in activities of municipalities that directly support the organization (PKK); encouraged children to go to the mountains (to become a guerrilla); participated in Kobane demonstrations; and been caught on security cameras. Additionally, those against whom a legal action had already been taken in reference to PKK ties and others with connections to institutions in Europe that also support PKK will be listed.'
