Small businesses in Adana face legal probing for shutting down shops to protest operation on HDP

In Turkey’s southern city Adana, small businesses that were shut-down in protest of detention of HDP co-chairs and MPs have been detected by police officers and owners will be a subject of a legal probe in reference to ‘giving support to and obeying the call of the terrorist organization.’

According to the reports, several small business owners in Adana’s Seyhan and Yüreğir districts did not open their shops following the operation on HDP to demonstrate their objection. In addition to being fined under law on misdemeanors, the business owners will also face a legal investigation for ‘acting against the order of the security forces’ and ‘obeying terrorists.’
