Turkey’s Erdoğan repeats calls on USA for extradition of Gülen

Turkey’s president Erdoğan gave a speech at an iftar dinner at a venue in Ankara’s Kazan district -officially referred to as Kahramankazan since last year’s failed coup.

Praising the people of Kazan for ‘their heroism on the night of the coup attempt’, Erdoğan said: “Some people don’t understand it but we have got our Rabia: one homeland, one nation, on flag… If you (Fethullah Gülen), do not stay in Pennsylvania and come over here (to Turkey)…”

Repeating on his calls to the USA for extradition of Islamic cleric Fethullah Gülen, the alleged mastermind of the coup plot of last summer, Erdoğan added: “We call on those who we think of as friends: give us that head of the terrorists. If you won’t, tomorrow is another day!”

Erdoğan also criticized the chair of main opposition CHP, Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, for launching the Justice March, which has today marked its 9th day.

“Some careless people are unaware of the plots about our country and some others support them (the plots) on purpose. But our people see everything. So, it turns out that he (Kılıçdaroğlu) will be walking up to İstanbul. Where were you on the night of July 15? He says it is a ‘covered up coup.’ That’s the same thing that the head of the organization in Pennsylvania says.”
