Turkey’s president Erdoğan expected to attend G20 summit with 60 bodyguards

A recent report of DW Türkçe, which showed Turkish and German diplomatic officials as the source, stated that Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan will be attending the upcoming G20 Summit in Germany’s Hamburg with a delegation of around 250. Of this, more than 60 are reported to be the security guards of the president.

While an initial list submitted by Turkey included some of the guards that were involved in the brutal attack on protesters in Washington, DC, a second list which was revised with the request of Germany has recently been submitted again.

The large number of the delegation has caused shock within the diplomatic circles, the report said. Referred to as the ‘giant delegation of Turkey’, the president’s delegation is also thought to be this large due to his plans of holding public meetings with the Turkish Diaspora in Germany.
