USA warns citizens in Turkey to keep caution as July 15 commemorations near
On Wednesday (July 11), US Embassy to Ankara warned its citizens living and traveling in Turkey to keep caution as the July 15 commemoration ceremonies near.
Urging its citizens to ‘avoid demonstrations and large gatherings’ before and on July 15, the US Embassy also stated that ‘even demonstrations intended to be peaceful can turn confrontational and escalate into violence’.
Throughout the week ahead of July 15, various activities will be held in both local and national platforms to mark the first anniversary of the failed coup attempt of 2016, as the government officials announced earlier.
