Hotels in Turkey's capital Ankara notified on possibility of 'national mobilization'

An official notice has been given by police to the management of some hotels in Ankara in order to warn them that ‘in case of mobilization, their businesses were to be seized.’

In the notice, it was mentioned that the decision was made in accordance with the requests of 4th division army corps and Ankara garrison command. Titled as ‘The decision of the commission on Obligation of National Defense’, the letter to the hotels was handed in on 30 November 2016, according to the reports of Caner Taşpınar from OdaTV.

Signed by the head of Ankara’s Çankaya district Aydın Ergün and given to hotel managements in Ankara by the police officers, the letter included the following statements: “We ask of all delivery receipt reports to be handled in accordance with law 3634 and other relevant regulations and any difficulties to be reported to our Commission in order to avoid delays in procuring.”

Though there is currently no official declaration of ‘mobilization’, President Erdoğan made a statement where he said ‘I declare national mobilizaiton against all terrorist groups’. Obligation of National Defense, on the other hand, is a legal statement including the regulations and measures to be taken in case ‘an alarming situation, which could lead to mobilizaiton, emerges’.
