President Erdoğan: ‘Mosul is ours; I am giving a lesson on history!’
Speaking in İnegöl district of Bursa province at the opening ceremony of Hacı Sevim Yıldız Vocational Training Campus recently, President Erdoğan talked about current state of affairs, including the ongoing operations in the region.
Highlights of Erdoğan’s speech: “We have not lost our determination despite all attacks. We are going to dry up the swamp of terrorists for sure… The West is not being honest; they use their vast facilities not for victims but for keeping the victims out of their borders. Those who have remained silent about the death of more than 600,000 people defend the PYD terrorists. And, they have been trying any possible way in order to keep Turkey out of the regional affairs and put the burden on us. We won’t allow this immoral game!.. Turkey is walking in the direction of its 2023 goals despite the sabotage attempts. Look, we built the Osman Gazi Bridge and we came here from there. And, the Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge is a giant project! We are going to open the Eurasia Tunnel on the 20th of december this year..."

"Mosul is ours! Look at history. They get bothered because I mentioned Misak-I Milli (national pact). I’m giving a history lesson; why do you get bothered? We are patriots, this is our difference. Since the very beginning, we have said that Iraq should not be left off to only one ethnic group. We say the same thing for Syria, too…
We are doing whatever is necessary on the field, under the framework of international laws. We are never going to allow for a terror zone to get formed in our southern border. And, the operation over Jarabulus is an expression of our determination in this regard. Same with Dabiq. Now, they tell us ‘do not go into al-Bab’. We are going to enter there, we have to. We have to create a region that is cleared off terror."
