Ultra-nationalist aggressors attack students of Turkey's Kocaeli University
A group of members of ultra-nationalist Turancı Hareket Platformu (Turancı Movement Platform) attacked students at the cafeteria of Turkey’s Kocaeli University today (February 27).
Attacking the students with stones and sticks, the aggressors told them to ‘leave the site.’ As tension grew, riot police came to campus and forced all students to leave the campus.
While some students got injured during the skirmish, police took into custody 47 students as some reacted and refused to leave campus by saying ‘universities are ours; you cannot treat us like this.’
A police officer was also hurt on the head during the physical brawl.
