USA concerned over recent detention of human rights defenders in Turkey
Spokesperson of US State Department, Heather Nauert, delivered a statement on Thursday (July 6) expressing concern over the recent detention of 10 human rights advocates in Turkey on July 5.
As Mallory Shelbourne of The Hill reported, spokeswoman Nauert said: “The United States is deeply concerned by the July 5, detention of prominent human rights defenders from Amnesty International Turkey and other respected institutions.”
